I feel like I should make that the next Just Gundam Thing… “Getting mindfucked by the zero system!” haha oh god. Mailing lists… I was on a Gundam mailing list and i was the only one who liked other gundam shows besides Wing and it got irritating the having hiro and duo shipping everywhere >_O
I’m the only one that doesn’t really see any of them as gay?
Those gundam wing mls could get vicious at times, and yeah it seemed at the time that the only pair anyone shipped was 1x2. I know among fans who got to know the series before it came to Toonami, Relena hatred was rabid, and almost everyone was on the yaoi side on the fence. Then, after Toonami, there were all these new U.S. fans who thought yaoi was disgusting. I actually had one guy write to me (in the guestbook on my site - remember those? - that I had completely ruined the whole series for him because I wrote yaoi fanfic. (I never believed I could have such power!)

You must believe! I was there to witness it, back when the only communication was through mailing lists. Poor Wufei seemed to take the brunt of it - the whole “Nataku” thing, you know. And once it was ZeroSystem x Heero, which kind of makes sense from the “mindfuck” perspective…
